The little things...

With all of these happenings of crime in nearby areas, it is a good reminder that we should be loving, not just living.  All too quickly, life ends abruptly; a car accident, a farming mishap, a plane crash, a heart attack, terroristic behavior, and more.

I take moments like these as a stern reminder that the little things in life ARE THE BIG THINGS.  We should take time to walk through the flower patch.  We should smell the coffee brewing.  We should hug our loved ones, and tell them how much we love them.  Every day!

We should "tiptoe through the tulips".  We should enjoy the sunshine.  We should sit on our porch and watch the rain fall.  We should greet our neighbors as they jog past our house on an evening run.

We should imagine that all people wear an imaginary sign that says "Make me feel important."

Well, these people in the photos below are some of the ones on my list of VIPs that I plan to hug today.

A Blast From the Past...  I believe this would have been 6th grade.  Eeeeek!  :D

My, how things have changed in recent years.  But what stays the same, no matter what, is our love for each other.  We need to remember to support our friends, neighbors, family, co-workers, high school friends, and everyone we meet.  Everyone (EVERYONE) is fighting some sort of battle on their side of the fence, whether that be a shoot-out/hostage situation at a local pharmacy, cancer found on a test, a deer hit with their car, they don't know how they're going to pay the light bill, and all sorts of other things.

Just try and imagine this little sign around their neck, and remember that every person is struggling with something.

Remember today to thank God for the people and things that you have in your life.  What would happen if you woke up tomorrow with only what you thanked God for today?
I thank God for you.
