The Fair? Already?

Well, it seems it's that time of year where the Fair Board really gets to work making sure all the ducks are in a row, and this year, there's a lot going on!

If you didn't check out the fair's new website last year, you're in for a treat. I designed the website a few months before fair last year, and even though we still have a lot of last years information on there, in a few short weeks, it should be shaping up for the 2010 season quite nicely.

There is sort of a quandry with the fairbook -- feel free to give me your opinion... We've contemplated printing less of the fairbooks -- we usually print about 700, and making the entire book available online. It's not about the money, because the printers usually raise the money via the advertisers, but we have struggled with getting the books done and out to the public ON TIME!

We usually have all the data in to the printers by May 1st, and we ask that they have the books ready by June 15. For years (and I do mean YEARS), we were lucky to get them by the middle of July. So, here's what we're thinking. Print about 100 books, so those folks that don't have internet can use them; put it online so everybody else can download those parts they need and print them off at home.

Mom's on the fairboard, so give your opinion and I'll make sure it gets passed on!

I really can't wait for the fair, since it's going to be WARM!

Amazing isn't it, something this summer takes so much planning this January but I know how that it is, to be successful the behind the scenes is a LOT of work. So, if money isn't an issue why don't you do both, get the work out as soon as you can on line and also do the books. Just a thought. Later Deb
