A busy weekend was had by all at my house. Cabin on Friday night, Rapid City shopping and the Ag banquet on Saturday, and church Sunday morning. We were (at least I was) so tired from all the goings on, I just vegged on the couch most of the afternoon Sunday. The laundry and dishes didn't get done, but I just needed some relax time. Jason and I were making jokes, realizing that we couldn't remember the last time we didn't do anything for most of the weekend, so taking one day to chill out was really OK!

Mom and Dad left yesterday to go down and be with Grandma Leibbrandt, who is just pissed at the world because there's nothing she can do but stay in the nursing home. She is upset that her cancer is back, and upset that she still has assets to divide up, still contained within the walls of her home in Holdrege. I'm hoping they can get her out of there for a while, get a few things lined out, and still be able to get her to go back in when they're finished.

So we're running the plant -- which is nice. Things always go pretty smoothly when Mom and Dad are gone. And it is nice for them to be able to get away for a little bit, even if it is only a day or two.

The only problem is, Mom left a note for me; Inventory. ICKY! Hopefully this afternoon, it will warm up a bit and we can go out and get it done. It's only once a year, and I tell ya, it probably should be required two or three times a year...

Well have a great day, all. Enjoy the warmth -- rumor has it we'll have 40s through the week, and then a cold snap again...

Jess- I'm still praying for your grandma and family. :) I hope that your grandma is able to get things in order as she wishes.

It was good seeing you Friday night! Sending prayers for your grandma....hope she can get things in order to give her a peace of mind. Good luck with the inventory! I hated doing that when I worked at the Citgo!

You've always gotta take that day to veg and do nothing. Of course, the next day is something more difficult. But oh well, right?

I'm so sorry to hear about Grandma. That would be awful. :(

Really not much going on here today. I've been studying like a mad man, it's cold here, kids are busy, same old same old. I did find out yesterday my Aunt Marlene (Mom's sister) has non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She is doing some chemo treatments in the next couple weeks, and we'll see where it goes from there -- please keep her in your prayers. I also need prayers for my friends still struggling financially. Times are tough, and we all have to make sacrifices we typically wouldn't, but hang in there -- it will all be worth it in the end. Christmas Lists

I finally took a few moments and got the Christmas lists posted for our family!  I find it hard to believe we are at this point in the year already.  This has been a crazy year, full of roller-coaster emotions, such busy times, a few slow times, losses for some, gains for many, but it has been another year passed nonetheless. This year, we've seen many changes, and with each change, we learn a little bit more about who we are and what we're capable of. I'm going into this holiday season with a warm heart, and I hope you will too.  God has great things in store for all of us, and I can't wait to see each morning what He's prepared for me.    This past weekend, we traveled to Deadwood with my “work family”, and had a great time. Some of the guys went golfing up near Sturgis (Boulder Canyon) during the morning, but most of us ladies had spent the morning checking out the sales in the citywide garage sales. We started off the trip by meeting together at the office and “caravan-ing” the ladies to the Prairie Berry Winery. With Jason’s back being injured recently, he wasn’t up for golf, so he decided to be our “DD”…          I had never been to a wine tasting, nor a winery, and never had been to Prairie Berry.  It snowed on us on the way up (see photo at right). What an enjoyable experience it was! We were allowed to try up to five wines, (only a half an ounce each), so I tried a variety, albeit most of them were the sweet wines. I am just not a fan of dry or bitter wines.
