Whizzin' by Wednesday

We loaded up some of Grandpa & Grandma Claussen's furniture that we laid claim to before the auction. I now have a beautiful oak dresser with a mirror, and a Hoosier cabinet, both of which my father-in-law restored back to original condition many years ago. I am so proud and honored to have been chosen to receive these precious pieces of their home.

The Hoosier cabinet was where Grandma kept her pans/cookie sheets/other kitchen necessities, that she used to make oatmeal raisin cookies for all her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, peppernuts for our entire family each Christmas, and bread of every kind for church gatherings. What memories are stored up inside this cabinet, which will now call my kitchen home. WOW!!!

I've got some rearranging to do to get these new pieces put into their places, and once I do, I will post pictures. They fit so well in our home, being a beautiful honey oak color! I'm excited!

Haley's volleyball team played St. Agnes last night and tied -- long story... The A team played and won, in a close match. Haley has been involved in the setters position this year, as well as spiking, and she has done a good job!!

Tonight is bowling, and Shelby can't help but remind me that "TOMORROW IS DANCE, MOMMY!" She has waited a long time to be involved with dance, and she is loving her lessons. I'm glad!

Spence brought home some reading from school -- he read it so quickly, and then tossed it aside. He said, "Mommy, lets get a real book to read. Those ones from school are WAAAAYYY too easy!" What a great kid!

LOL....I just love what Spencer said, oh how funny! Wow, sounds like the kids are staying way busy, on top of all the school stuff! Can't wait to see pictures of the furniture too. All is going well here, the little blob in my belly seems to be doing fine & Preston Lee is always busy as can be. TTTL.

Really not much going on here today. I've been studying like a mad man, it's cold here, kids are busy, same old same old. I did find out yesterday my Aunt Marlene (Mom's sister) has non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She is doing some chemo treatments in the next couple weeks, and we'll see where it goes from there -- please keep her in your prayers. I also need prayers for my friends still struggling financially. Times are tough, and we all have to make sacrifices we typically wouldn't, but hang in there -- it will all be worth it in the end. One resource I can recommend on money expertise is DaveRamsey.com -- he's the guy responsible for the Financial Peace University that Jason and I took a couple of years ago. Christmas Lists

I finally took a few moments and got the Christmas lists posted for our family!  I find it hard to believe we are at this point in the year already.  This has been a crazy year, full of roller-coaster emotions, such busy times, a few slow times, losses for some, gains for many, but it has been another year passed nonetheless. This year, we've seen many changes, and with each change, we learn a little bit more about who we are and what we're capable of. I'm going into this holiday season with a warm heart, and I hope you will too.  God has great things in store for all of us, and I can't wait to see each morning what He's prepared for me.    This past weekend, we traveled to Deadwood with my “work family”, and had a great time. Some of the guys went golfing up near Sturgis (Boulder Canyon) during the morning, but most of us ladies had spent the morning checking out the sales in the citywide garage sales. We started off the trip by meeting together at the office and “caravan-ing” the ladies to the Prairie Berry Winery. With Jason’s back being injured recently, he wasn’t up for golf, so he decided to be our “DD”…          I had never been to a wine tasting, nor a winery, and never had been to Prairie Berry.  It snowed on us on the way up (see photo at right). What an enjoyable experience it was! We were allowed to try up to five wines, (only a half an ounce each), so I tried a variety, albeit most of them were the sweet wines. I am just not a fan of dry or bitter wines.
