Schedules posted and more info
Game schedules are listed above the blog posts. We have had a little chaos because of the rain, and some games will be rescheduled if possible. We've had a few games, but the majority of them have not taken place due to the standing water on our field. They were working on it today, but no chance of it drying out by 6pm tonight, so we're able to stay away from the field for another night...
Haley played in Gordon last night. She pitched a couple of innings (and did REALLY awesome), played 2nd base, and caught a time or two, also. She is really a great player. And she also got in some good hits, too. All the girls were pretty much on top of their game, and they work together really well. We have a great team!!
Shelby has been playing the pitcher position (in Pixies the coach pitches anyways) but she runs the whole field if nobody else is. She is really one of the quickest girls on the team.
That has been our main focus lately, just softball. It seems like June comes and goes so quickly because of softball, but the girls really enjoy it, so I guess it's worth it.
Grandpa Clay found out yesterday there isn't anything they can do to help him ease his eating troubles, the cancer is Stage 4 and to do any of the limited amount of things to help him would be a huge risk to his life. So the decision is to just make him as comfortable as possible for the time he has left. Sad, but he's miserably lonely, and we'll do whatever we can within means to make him comfortable.
We have some family (as part of an unending stream of visitors to his house) coming to town this weekend and next to hang out with him. Even some from the Oklahoma area too! And on Father's Day is the Claussen reunion, at Grandpa's house. We've had it there because he has a huge yard (fenced) for the kids and a large house to hold all the guests. We normally have about 50(ish) people for the main meal, but over the weekend, we sometimes get up to 100 guests, and this year is rumored to be even larger. Hopefully as many as possible will make the trip to see Grandpa Clay again.
So, like I said before, we'll be at the softball field, at the house, or spending some time with Grandpa. That's pretty much our life for this month. The girls are having a hay day with softball, and I'm still plugging along keeping up with them. As long as that remains to be the case, we'll keep playing!
We've been hoping for the weather to stay warm long enough to buy a pool pass so the kids can hang out there in the afternoon, and we're still waiting....
Anybody wanna go camping? Even just at the State Park? I'm really ready!!!
Fur Trade Days and July 4th celebrations are just around the corner...
Oooooh! And I heard the Fort has a Patsy Cline show this summer.... Any takers???
