Cuttin' Back... and a Good Laugh!
Jason and I made a few of the difficult phone calls we've been putting off for so long. We are trying to save as much money as possible (mostly because we just don't seem to SAVE!), and during the summer, we're never home, and never inside the house.
Sooooooo.... we've cut back our TV to just the basics, and I learned something new today. We decided that maybe we could do without our home phone -- which required us to give up our internet. When I logged onto the Qwest website, I see they now offer stand-alone internet service (in other words, you don't have to have a land line to have your internet...). So, we'll be giving up our phone, and we'll just operate on our cells (as we always do), but we'll still have internet at home!
We're also looking around for a new health insurance policy. We've had it now about 15 months, and it's gone up from $450 a month to $630! Eeeek! So if you have any recommendations or information that might help us, let me know!
I am really surprised that cutting back hasn't been harder. It is simple to get objective about money; sometimes it's not easy to give in -- I really like having all my music channels and watching whatever I want, but it's also nice not to have to sweat writing such a big check each month.
So, in other news, it's still raining... We got another 3 tenths of an inch last night. Wow! We're nearly halfway to July and we haven't even hit 90 degrees, I don't think!! (If we did, it wasn't for long!)
Great news, too -- our grass is coming up very well! In some places, it even looks like a lawn!!! I'm so glad!!
Ok, well I suppose I had better get back to it. The kids were promised last night I'd take them to the library this afternoon, so I need to get some work done before I have to run off! Have a great day!!
---------- Here's some Friday humor for you ----------
