The pictures really don't do it justice -- I couldn't get my family to quit watching Knight Rider to get a better photo of the room WITHOUT the couch potatoes...

Jason worked really hard putting up the trim (something we'd wanted to do when we first bought the house). Thanks to Mom and Dad Leibbrandt for giving us the trim!! We truly appreciate it, and we love the transformation that happened because of some free trim and a couple cheap cans of paint!! As you can see in the pictures, we need a small table, and some more pictures/decor hung on the walls, but I am SO excited!!!

My scrappin room is looking really good, but it kinda got a little chaotic, since we really wanted to get the main floor back up and running for the candle party. And we DID!!! The kids' rooms got a thorough cleaning and rearranging, the kitchen & bathroom got a good scrubbing, and our house is CLEAN (yes, even Jason and my bedroom!!)! I know!!! I just looked outside and a storm is brewing...! Now we have to finish that never-ending mound of laundry -- only about 4 loads and we're looking good. We're 4 days out, and amazingly enough, it's still clean!! Beck can vouch -- she was here earlier!

So we will be finishing the last few organization things needed to complete the scrapbooking room and clean up the laundry. Then we are going to install a vent fan/light combo in our bathroom, trim the new patio door & put in the new window, and hopefully begin painting the remainder of the basement!! Yeah, and somewhere in there, one of us has to go into the garage and organize it enough that I can get my car in -- the oil change was needed about 500 miles ago!!!

Needless to say, as usual, we are running 100+ miles an hour. But at least I don't feel like we're spinning our wheels. It truly feels like for once in a great while, we are really getting somewhere!! Never a dull moment here!!

Oh! And a quick update on Grandma Leibbrandt -- she is in the nursing home still, and doctors are recommending she stay there at least 3 weeks more to allow her lungs more time to heal from the symptoms of the pneumonia. She is feeling much, much better, but suffers from tremendous fatigue with the slightest efforts. She really loves the nursing home, though. There are so many fun activities, good friends, and people and staff there are extremely helpful and kind. She's had nothing but good things to say about it all.

So thanks again to all of you for your prayers and kind thoughts as she heals up!!

I am going to try to do a little review on my transcription stuff tonight, at least until I get sleepy... which could be ... ... uh... now... :0) G'nite, all!

Really not much going on here today. I've been studying like a mad man, it's cold here, kids are busy, same old same old. I did find out yesterday my Aunt Marlene (Mom's sister) has non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She is doing some chemo treatments in the next couple weeks, and we'll see where it goes from there -- please keep her in your prayers. I also need prayers for my friends still struggling financially. Times are tough, and we all have to make sacrifices we typically wouldn't, but hang in there -- it will all be worth it in the end. One resource I can recommend on money expertise is DaveRamsey.com -- he's the guy responsible for the Financial Peace University that Jason and I took a couple of years ago. Christmas Lists

I finally took a few moments and got the Christmas lists posted for our family!  I find it hard to believe we are at this point in the year already.  This has been a crazy year, full of roller-coaster emotions, such busy times, a few slow times, losses for some, gains for many, but it has been another year passed nonetheless. This year, we've seen many changes, and with each change, we learn a little bit more about who we are and what we're capable of. I'm going into this holiday season with a warm heart, and I hope you will too.  God has great things in store for all of us, and I can't wait to see each morning what He's prepared for me.    This past weekend, we traveled to Deadwood with my “work family”, and had a great time. Some of the guys went golfing up near Sturgis (Boulder Canyon) during the morning, but most of us ladies had spent the morning checking out the sales in the citywide garage sales. We started off the trip by meeting together at the office and “caravan-ing” the ladies to the Prairie Berry Winery. With Jason’s back being injured recently, he wasn’t up for golf, so he decided to be our “DD”…          I had never been to a wine tasting, nor a winery, and never had been to Prairie Berry.  It snowed on us on the way up (see photo at right). What an enjoyable experience it was! We were allowed to try up to five wines, (only a half an ounce each), so I tried a variety, albeit most of them were the sweet wines. I am just not a fan of dry or bitter wines.
